Job Responsibilities |
- Analysing past sales figures / trend to anticipate future product
- Devising a merchandising plan using the above
- Communicating the merchandising plan to buyer, who can then decide what products, styles, colours etc. to purchase from which suppliers at what cost
- Devising a contract for the suppliers, including quality control, accuracy and flexibility, which is done throughout the season
- Allocating certain amounts of stock to each outlet throughout the season, to minimise unnecessary stock holdings for maximum budgetary
- Once the products are distributed and put on sale, the retail planner can then monitor stock movement, consider markdowns, inter- branch transfers, promotions.
- Liasing with the store manager and interior designer to ensure the products are presented to potential customers in the most attractive manner possible
- Analysing every aspect of best sellers and ensuring that they reach their full potential
- Maintaining awareness of competitors performance
- Monitoring slow sellers and taking action to improve performance
- Accompanying different functional managers or team on visit to appreciate and improve processes
- Presenting analysis report of the brand on sales, stock, OTB, Margins, Store Subgroup level sales, order quantity, allocation and replenishment
- Responsible for “right product, to the right place & at the right time; thus ensuring availability of products to match the customer’s demands.
- To prepare reports and send it to the directors, managers and the specialists
- To prepare report on stock, sales, stock cover, availability, gaps. This includes daily reports, weekly reports, weekend reports, monthly report.
